SilvermanAcampora has been retained by Jesup & Lamont Securities Corp. and Jesup & Lamont, Inc. in the chapter 11 cases filed in the United Stated Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Prior to its bankruptcy filing, Jesup & Lamont was a securities broker-dealer with an extensive history. Established in 1877, Jesup & Lamont once provided brokerage services to companies such as Standard Oil, raised capital for the construction of the world-famous Rockefeller Center and maintained over a dozen offices across the United States.
After months of negotiations, the historic Woodcrest Club, represented by SilvermanAcampora partners Kenneth Silverman and Gerard Luckman, sold at auction for $19 million. The final sale of the property closed in June 2010. SilvermanAcampora is currently working with the debtor to make distributions to creditors and equity holders.
