Fun Raising at the Red Cross Ball

Say Cheese!

Fun Raising for the Red Cross!

Fund Raising was never such good fun!  This year we decided to switch things up a little with our sponsorship.  So, rather than just deliver the usual selfie station we created a photo experience that included a photo booth and wandering photography team.  Every time we snapped a pic – we took over 400 shots –  which included our mascot Flint the dog, we made a donation to the Red Cross.

We raised $2,500!

It was so much fun and huge thanks to everyone at the ball who joined in to ensure that we raised some additional funds for the wonderful Red Cross.  All of the images are available for free download … click here to see the full, hilarious, great fun gallery.

2016 Student Showcase at Brookhaven National Laboratory

Celebrating Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics at the annual STEM Education Student Showcase.

Our Partner-In-Charge, Anthony Acampora, together with Half Hollow Hills School Board of Education Trustee, Diana Acampora, Superintendent, Kelly Fallon, and Deputy Superintendent John O’Farrell were among the many attendees at the 2016 Long Island Stem Hub Annual Celebration and Student Showcase held at Brookhaven National Laboratory.  SilvermanAcampora is an active supporter of Long Island manufacturing and industry as well as STEM education.

The Long Island STEM Hub, one of ten forming within the Empire State STEM Learning Network, is focused on preparing students for the Long Island workforce through enhanced STEM experiences for students and teachers. Academic relevance serves as a major theme by making it easy for businesses to engage with school and university systems, and integrating non-academic settings such as museums, research labs, and not-for-profit programs. It is envisioned that the Hub will promote workforce development to support the high tech economic growth and vitality of the region. The Hub serves as a collaborative operation, providing a one-stop source for businesses, school districts, students, parents, teachers, universities, informal education and worker retraining operations to address STEM workforce needs in the region.
