We don’t take jeans for granted at SilvermanAcampora! It’s not every week that we have casual Fridays, so when they happen, we make them count.
This summer we used four Fridays as fundraisers. The first two were June 2 and June 9, when the firm raised $440 for Long Island Cares and Vet’s Work. Spearheaded by Rudy Bahena, General Services Associate at SilvermanAcampora, who is a veteran and a volunteer at Vet’s Work. Rudy was inspired to help as many years ago these programs helped him!
The second two casual Fridays were in August when SilvermanAcampora employees raised money for Long Island Head Start to purchase school supplies. A five-dollar donation “bought” the right to wears jeans to work. Even though some employees were on vacation, we were able to collect a total donation of $250!
Long Island Head Start utilized the donation to purchase school supplies for 3 to 5-year-old children who come from at-risk families who cannot afford to purchase them on their own. Spearheaded by Christine Wittneben, HR Consultant at SilvermanAcampora, the donation helped fill the gap of 25 school bags they was experiencing. The school bags and supplies were delivered to Long Island Head Start on Monday, September 11, 2017, by Christine.
Being casual never felt so good!
