There is one thing for certain here at the firm, anytime you see our General Services associate Rudy Bahena you will be greeted with a smile and a “How are you doing today?” Rudy Bahena (who speaks 5 languages) served for 21 years in the U.S. Army, retiring from the 101st Airborne Air Assault “Screaming Eagles.”
Before joining SilvermanAcampora, Rudy had several temporary jobs working for companies like USPS, Target, and Puritan’s Pride doing temp work. Eventually He reached out to an organization that would ultimately change his life, Long Island Cares. Rudy was able to utilize their “VetsWork” program to expand his studies as well as helping him find steady work. During this time the organization also helped his family until Rudy found the right job, and that job was here at SilvermanAcampora.
Rudy appreciates the help received from LI Cares and now does his part to give back to his military family across Long Island. As a volunteer he does a variety of things to help, such as telemarketing, assisting with events and fund raising. He is a willing team player and helps spread the word to others. For example, he spearheaded a the ‘Casual for a Cause’ Friday fundraisers. The first two Fridays of June were designated as LI Cares Casual Fridays and everyone who participated donated to the Long Island Cares organization; he raised $440!
Rudy understands that anyone can feel alone or helpless saying, “I want to help people who are in the place that I used to be in, and LI Cares has helped me so much. I want to help people understand that there is a community of support and whether you are a service member or not, there are people who care for you and will do whatever they can to help you back on your feet.”
Rudy represents the very best of us, and truly shows us all what paying it forward really means. He shares his positive spirit, warmth and generosity with everyone he encounters. Great job Rudy!
