It’s been a busy summer, in late May the FBI hosted a two day long Compliance Academy and our own Jim Black was chosen to participate with a group of 55 other compliance professionals from around America. The Compliance Academy involves a two day intensive series of meetings, lectures and discussion on topics including Cyber security, Economic espionage, export controls, the Foreign Corrupt Practice Act and industry best practices.
The FBI’s office of Integrity and Compliance is only ten years old. Over the last decade it has worked closely with industry to provide a gold standard of compliance support and training with in the Bureau as well as share its best practices with industry. In April of 2015, the Bureau established its Office of the Private Sector, whose mission is to protect the US economy and national security through partnerships with the private sector. The firm will also be sponsoring a speaker from the FBI Office of the Private Sector in the coming months. Watch this space!
