David J. Mahoney is a member of the Litigation Group and the Small Business Development Group. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Mahoney served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Trial Division of the New York County District Attorney's Office for the Honorable Robert M. Morgenthau.
As a prosecutor and in private practice, Mr. Mahoney has conducted numerous bench and jury trials, and has experience in all aspects of complex commercial litigation. As counsel to both Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy trustees, Mr. Mahoney has worked closely with federal authorities and engaged in long term investigations of Ponzi schemes, director and officer malfeasance in publicly traded companies and mortgage fraud rings.
Mr. Mahoney, who serves as general counsel to a local human resources firm, also represents corporate clients in connection with employment and discrimination issues including the negotiation of employment and severance agreements and internal employment discrimination investigations.
Mr. Mahoney graduated with honors from Seton Hall University School of Law, and is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Labor and Employment Section of the New York State Bar Association, the Nassau County Bar Association and the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Mahoney also volunteers as a trial advocacy advisor to the Jericho High School moot court team.
