MaribellaX Group, Ltd.

SilvermanAcampora represented the chapter 11 trustee of MaribellaX Group, Ltd., a major commercial real estate landlord in the New York City area. In this capacity, the Firm advised the trustee in his successful resolution of the debtor’s case, resulting in a 100% distribution to all creditors and the return of several key pieces of income-producing property to the debtor.

Spongetech Delivery Systems, Inc.

SilvermanAcampora represents the chapter 7 trustee of Spongetech Delivery Systems, Inc. Spongetech, the producer of sponges for various cleaning purposes, is known for its advertisements in sports stadiums across the country. The SEC has also alleged that Spongetech was the centerpiece of a massive “pump and dump” scheme perpetrated by the company’s top executives.

New Stream Real Estate LLC

SilvermanAcampora successfully obtained more than $1 million for mortgage lender New Stream Real Estate, LLC in connection with a New York State court foreclosure action.

M. Slavin & Sons, Ltd.

SilvermanAcampora represented M. Slavin & Sons, Ltd. and successfully confirmed a chapter 11 plan of reorganization. M. Slavin & Sons, Ltd. continues to operate and is involved in the wholesale and retail sale of seafood on a worldwide basis.

785 Partners LLC

SilvermanAcampora represented a Canadian-based real estate investment trust who owned the mortgage note on the chapter 11 Debtor’s newly constructed apartment complex in Midtown Manhattan. The Firm successfully negotiated a plan providing for the transfer of the property to our client, who currently owns and operates the complex.

Janitorial Close-out City

SilvermanAcampora recently represented a husband and wife that were sued by the chapter 7 trustee of the Janitorial Close-out City, et al., substantively consolidated estates. Although the Trustee had alleged that the Firm’s clients were insiders of the debtor and cohorts of the estate’s Ponzi scheme perpetrator, the Firm successfully negotiated a favorable settlement for its clients for less than 10% of the amount demanded.

Frito-Lay North America, Inc.

SilvermanAcampora successfully represented a major designer and manufacturer of food processing equipment in a lawsuit brought by Frito-Lay in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.  The lawsuit alleged that the manufacturer infringed upon the patents and trademarks of Frito-Lay’s “Tostitos SCOOPS!” brand in its manufacturing of processing equipment for a “store brand.”

Dreier LLP

SilvermanAcampora recently represented a Manhattan couple in defending claims made by several parties associated with the chapter 11 estate of Dreier LLP. In addition to negotiating a favorable settlement of all claims asserted by the chapter 11 trustee, the Firm successfully defended the couple against indemnification claims asserted by multiple co-defendants.

Agape World, Inc.

SilvermanAcampora has been retained as counsel to the Trustee in the Agape World, Inc. bankruptcy case which is pending in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York – Central Islip. Federal authorities have alleged that a $380 million dollar ponzi scheme to defraud investors was run through Agape World, Inc. and its affiliated entity Agape Merchant Advance, LLC.

Salazar v. Maldonado

SilvermanAcampora represented the plaintiffs in this action, who were homeowners that hired the defendants to design and construct a substantial renovation to their home in Long Beach, New York.  After the home was renovated, there were significant structural defects in the home, which required a complete re-design and re-construction.

After 9 days of trial, including testimony from various expert witnesses, the Court found all defendants liable and entered a judgment totaling more than $750,000.

Residential Capital, LLC (GMAC Mortgage)

SilvermanAcampora was special counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors of Residential Capital, LLC, et al. The firm advised the Creditors Committee on matters related to the Debtors’ borrowers and their mortgages.  Residential Capital, LLC and its 50 other affiliated companies, including GMAC Mortgage, LLC, were a group of major mortgage lenders and mortgage servicers who filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in May of 2012.

Structure Tek Construction, Inc.

SilvermanAcampora represented Structure Tek Construction, Inc. in an arbitration regarding the breach of a contract for construction work performed on a restaurant in Massapequa, New York.  After a 5 day arbitration hearing before the American Arbitration Association, SilvermanAcampora’s client was awarded its entire claim, in full, plus interest.  The arbitrator’s award was confirmed by order of the New York State Supreme Court.
